ASSEMBLY AND DISASSEMBLY (FOR SOCK REPLACEMENT)

Use the Foot Horn to don and doff the foot shell. Remove the CPI sock and replace as needed.
Any further disassembly or modification of components will void the warranty.
INSTALLING THREADED ADAPTER
Screw threaded adapter or threaded receiver completely into housing (Figure 2).

To set internal-external rotation, turn counterclockwise no more than 90 degrees (1/4 turn) from starting

position to desired toe out angle (Figure 3). Caution: To prevent foot separation from prosthesis, do not
exceed 90 degrees (1/4 turn).
Torque 4mm clamp screw 5 N·m (44 in·lbs).
3.
ENDOSKELETAL MOUNTING
Use only high quality proximal endoskeletal components.
EXOSKELETAL MOUNTING
Refer to Scout Exo Block Kit Instruction Sheet for detailed instructions.
Attach threaded exo receiver to exo block with anti-rotation pin(s) oriented in desired position. Apply

242 to mounting bolt. Torque to 47 N·m (35 ft·lbs). To skip alignment and lamination, go to Step 9.

If using the alignable exo option, attach exo pyramid tool to exo block with four 5 mm screws. Torque to 15

N·m (11 ft·lbs).
Attach 22 mm endo components to the exo pyramid tool and temporarily mount the socket.

Screw threaded exo receiver completely into housing. Torque clamp screw to 5 N·m (44 in·lbs). Don CPI

sock and foot shell, then perform dynamic alignment.
Once alignment is complete, remove foot from exo block.

Mount aligned prosthesis in transfer jig. Lock socket and exo block in position.
6.
Remove endo components and exo pyramid tool.
7.
Use desired method to span exo block to the socket and remove from jig. Shape and laminate to desired finish.
8.
Do not remove foam from the top of the exo block. Note: Roughening the exo block foam by using 80-120
grit sandpaper will greatly improve adhesion to both the lamination and foam.
Re-assemble threaded exo receiver to exo block. Apply Loctite

47 N·m (35 ft·lbs). Re-assemble foot, don CPI sock and foot shell.
For exo growth plate assembly, refer to the Truper Growth Plate Kit Instruction Sheet (included with growth plates).
LAMINATION ADAPTER MOUNTING
Refer to Scout Threaded Lamination Adapter Fabrication Instructions for detailed instructions.
Temporarily attach the foot to the threaded adapter and mark the position (anterior or posterior). This is to

ensure the adapter is not in the wrong orientation once fabrication is complete. Remove the foot when finished.
Score the surface of the lamination adapter for better adhesion.

SINGLE STAGE LAMINATION:
▪ Apply inner PVA bag over model.
▪ Add double layer of perlon stockinet, with distal carbon or nyglass reinforcement.
▪ Tie unidirectional carbon strips or tape through the prong holes. Secure in AP/ML position.
TWO STAGE LAMINATION:
▪ All surfaces must be roughened prior to applying the second lamination.
▪ Transfer alignment and fix the lamination adapter to the inner socket layer with bonding agent (i.e. resin
mixture, putty, adhesive, etc).
Apply o-ring to base of lamination adapter threads to prevent contact with resin.

Apply mold release to threads of lamination cap and tighten onto adapter.
4.
If necessary, apply nyglass or carbon layers under adapter ears for reinforcement.
5.
Add double layer of perlon stockinet.
6.
Proceed with layup materials appropriate for the individual.
7.
Tie layup material into distal groove.
8.
Apply outer PVA bag and laminate socket. Ensure that resin saturates all layup material.

Once cured, remove excess resin and PVA bag. Then remove lamination cap and o-ring. Note: Ensure that no

resin remains on the threads.
Screw threaded adapter completely into housing. Torque clamp screw to 5 N·m (44 in·lbs). Don CPI sock and foot shell.

(included with growth plates).
