Close the ball valve (1) and insert the sensor (2), making sure the sensor
tip does not rest on the ball valve.
12.5 Determining the insertion depth for t-mass I 300, 500-digital
A = Internal pipe diameter for circular pipes
Channel height for rectangular ducts if the sensor is to be installed vertically,
or the channel width if the sensor is to be installed horizontally.
(a = min. 80 mm or 3 in)
B = Thickness of pipe wall or channel wall
C1 = Height of the weld-in nipple on the pipe or channel
C2 = Sensor pipe union and valve unit
Determining the insertion depth before mounting for the first time:
Insertion depth = (0.3 × a) + b + c
