1. Turn both control dials counter-clockwise to position "0" and switch the power
switch to position "O". Then unplug and leave the appliance cool down to room
temperature (approx. 45 minutes).
2. Remove the splash shield. Press the release buttons at both sides of the appli-
ance. This will move the outer sides of the grilling plates upwards a little and
make it somewhat easier to push the residues of juices and gravy from the gril-
ling plates into the drain slits. If required, you may use any grilling/cooking
utensil made of plastic or wood or a kitchen towel.
3. Remove the grilling plates carefully, ensuring that no droplets drip from the under-
side of the drain slits. If required, dab via a kitchen towel.
4. Pull the drip tray out of the console and empty it.
5. Wash the splash shield, drip tray, and grilling plates in warm dishwater with a
soft cloth or soft sponge. Thereafter, rinse the parts with clear tap water. Then,
thoroughly wipe dry. Alternatively, you may clean these parts in an automatic
dishwasher.
6. Wipe the housing and power cord carefully with a soft cloth or soft sponge,
slightly damped with warm dishwater. Ensure that the liquid does not drip into
the housing, while removing any splashes and drops of fat and juices. Wipe
with clear tap water. Thereafter, wipe dry.
7. Leave all parts dry naturally for approx. 1/2 hour, where the parts are out of
reach of children and animals. Ensure that the parts are completely dry. Then
push the drip tray into the opening in the centre of the console and install the
grilling plates (see: 'Operation / Preparations').
