• Operate the appliance on a well accessible, stable, level, dry, and
suitable large table or counter that is resistant against water, fat, and
heat, and where the appliance will not slip. Do not place any clothes
or tissue or other foreign objects under or on the appliance during
operation, to avoid risk of fire, electric shock, and overheating.
• During operation keep the appliance in an appropriate distance of
at least 50 cm on each side, to the edge of the work space and to
furniture, walls, curtains, and other objects to avoid damage due to
heat and splashes. Leave at least 1 m of free space above the appli-
ance. Do not operate the appliance under over-hanging boards or
drop lights. Do not place the appliance or any part of it on or near
hot surfaces (i.e. burner, heater, or oven). Always keep the appliance
and the table or counter clean and dry, and wipe off spilled liquids
immediately.
• Food may catch fire, when heated to high temperature! Moisture
below the grilling plates will evaporate during heating and cause a
risk of short circuit. Before mounting the grilling plates on the housing,
always ensure that the area of the heating elements and the grilling
plates are completely clean and dry. For operation: always ensure
that you have assembled the appliance completely and correctly.
BOTH grilling plates and the drip tray must be properly in place
and engaged, to avoid risk of injuries and damage due to high tem-
perature, overheating, fire, and electric shock. When using wrapped
food, always ensure to use thick, high-quality aluminium foil sui-
ted for grilling. Do not use any other types of foil (e.g. kitchen foil,
microwave foil, baking paper, or tin foil for food storage), to avoid
risk of overheating, fire, electric shock, and damage. Refer to the pro-
duct information of the foil manufacturer. RISK OF EXPLOSION AND
FIRE! DO NOT pour or place any inflammable liquids or objects on
or near the appliance (e.g. high-proof alcoholic drinks, mineralized
spirit, solvents). Due to the heat radiation of the appliance, inflam-
mable substances may evaporate even when being placed near the
appliance. These vapours may catch fire, when coming in contact
with any source of ignition (e.g. hot surfaces, candles, cigarettes,
electric circuits of the appliance). The appliance is NOT suited for
flambéing.
