9. Initial operation

• Set up the block splitter on a firm, level base.
• Mark the breaking point on the stone piece with a
pencil.
• Place the stone piece (c) (Fig. H) in the centre of
the support (d) of the block splitter.
• Adjust the height of the upper blade (e) with the
setting spindle (4) such that the cutting lever with
extension bar (1) stands approx. 15° above the hori-
zontal when the upper blade lies on the stone piece.
• Check whether the position of the upper blade
matches up with the position of the denoted break-
ing point.
• Press the cutting lever with extension bar (1) with
light to medium force downward toward the stone
piece. The stone piece breaks along the breaking
point.
• Remove all breakage remnants from the compo-
nents of the block splitter.
Turning the upper and lower blades
• When changing the blades, remove the screws (f)
as needed on the upper or lower blade.
• Remove the upper or lower blade as needed.
• Turn the removed blade and replace it in the block
splitter such that an unworn blade edge forms the
new cutting edge.
• Screw all screws (f) back into place.

10. Cleaning

We recommend that you clean the equipment imme-
diately after you use it.
Clean the equipment regularly with a damp cloth and
some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or sol-
vents; these may be aggressive to the plastic parts in
the equipment. Ensure that no water can get into the
interior of the equipment.

11. Transport (Fig. J)

Turn the hinged arm so that it is perpendicular to the
socket pipe.
Lift the block splitter by the extension bar (1) and
transport it by means of the transport wheels (9).

12. Storage

Store the device and its accessories in a dark, dry
and frost-proof place that is inaccessible to children.
The optimum storage temperature is between 5 and
30˚C.
Cover the electrical tool in order to protect it from
dust and moisture.
Store the operating manual with the electrical tool.

13. Maintenance

• Maintain the device regularly to ensure the er-
ror-free function.
• In the case of problems, place the device out of
service immediately and, if necessary, have it re-
paired by an authorized specialist.
• Perform a visual check of the block splitter before
every use.
• After every use of the block splitter, remove trash
and stone remnants.
• Lubricate or oil all moving parts regularly with
grease or motor oil.

Please note that the following parts of this product
are subject to normal or natural wear and that the fol-
lowing parts are therefore also required for use as
consumables.

14. Disposal and recycling

The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it
from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in
this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equip-
ment and its accessories are made of various types
of material, such as metal and plastic.
Defective components must be disposed of as spe-
cial waste. Ask your dealer or your local council.
