5 Operation

Risk of ignition or sparking
The ionizer must NOT be used inside an inert gas atmosphere or with an inert gas purging
system. There is a serious risk of sparks from the ionizer if such an environment is used.
The ionizer is controlled by the balance. It should be activated during loading the balance and deactivated
during weighing.
Activating with XPE
With XPE balances the ionizer is controlled by the automatic door.
Activating with XSE
− To activate the ionizer, tap function key [Ionizer].
ð The indicator light on the ionizer turns on.
− To deactivate the ionizer, tap again function key [Ionizer].
ð The indicator light turns off.
If the indicator light doesn't turn on:
1 Check cable connections and settings.
2 If the indicator light remains off, contact your local METTLER TOLEDO service agency.
