Adjusting the height of the footrest Avantgarde Teen 2, model VR (Fig. 47)
By loosening the screw (Fig. 47, item A), the footplate can be adjusted according to your specific lower leg
length and to the seat cushion you use.
Make sure when adjusting the footrest height, that the footrest bar (Fig. 47, item B) is slid into the swivel seg-
ment (Fig. 47, item C) at least 60 mm.
Be sure when having made any adjustments, to re-tighten the screw (Fig. 47, item A) to a torque of 8 Nm.

• Loosen the screws (item a) and move the footplate to the desired position. When you have adapted the height
and angle of the footplate to your individual requirements, firmly re-tighten all screws to a torque of 9 Nm.
• Ensure all screws are firmly re-tightened after making adjustments!
Adjustable Brake Force with Rear Wheel with Drum Brake
In order to achieve optimal braking effect, the brake force can be adjusted by means of the adjustment screw
(item 1).
By unscrewing the screw the brake force will be increased, to decrease turn the screw inwards.
• Please turn the adjustment screw to the left until frictional noise occurs at the wheel. Next, screw in the adjust-
ment screw until the frictional noise disappears and the wheel runs freely. After finishing the adjustment, fix the
adjustment screw by tightening the counter nut (item 2).
• Be sure the brake force of both rear wheels is adjusted equally.
• Make sure that the drum brake engages without too much force. Force should be adequate when the manual
brake lever is set to the second ratchet position.
Tension adjustable seat upholstery (Fig. 48)
If the seat fabric has stretched due to extended use, the upholstery can be re-adjusted to restore optimal pres-
sure distribution of the thighs.
• Loosen the hook and loop connection under the seat fabric. Re-tighten the upholstery and secure this position
using the hook and loop fastener. Unfold the wheelchair. The cross brace must be seated fully in the support
guides.
