– Hold the grinder spindle 4 firmly with open-end spanner
21 and clamp the tool bit 1 with open-end spanner 23 by
the spanner flats 9, turning in clockwise direction.
– Allow the newly mounted application tools such as grind-
ing points or serrated washers to first have an unloaded tri-
al run.
Removing
– Loosen the clamping nut as previously described and re-
move the grinding point.
Changing the Collet Chuck (see figure E)
– Hold the grinder spindle 4 with open-end spanner 21 by
the spanner flats 8.
– Loosen the clamping nut 3 with open-end spanner 23 by
applying it to the spanner flats 9 and turning in anticlock-
wise direction.
– Remove the clamping nut 3 together with the collet chuck
22.
– To mount a collet chuck 22, hold the grinder spindle 4 with
the open-end spanner 21 on the spanner flats 8 and turn
the collet chuck in the clamping nut 3 with the open-end
spanner 23 at the spanner flats 9 clockwise.
Operation

Starting Operation

The pneumatic tool works optimally at a working pressure of
6.3 bar (91 psi), measured at the air inlet when the pneumat-
ic tool is switched on.
 Remove application tools before you start operating
the pneumatic tool. An application tool which is left at-
tached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in in-
jury.
Note: When the pneumatic tool does not start, for example af-
ter a longer rest period, disconnect the air supply, and turn
the motor by the tool holder 2 several times through. This re-
moves the adhesive forces.
To save energy, only switch the pneumatic tool on when you
are using it.

10 forwards.

Working Advice

When the air supply is interrupted or the operating pressure is
reduced, switch the pneumatic tool off and check the operat-
ing pressure. Switch the tool on again when the operating
pressure is optimal.
Sudden loads cause a sharp drop in speed or a complete stop,
yet do not cause damage to the motor.
Working with the Straight Grinder
The choice of the application tools, such as grinding points or
flap discs, depends on the application case and area.
When choosing the appropriate abrasive wheel, your dealer
will help.
Optimum grinding results are achieved when the grinding tool
is moved uniformly back and forth with light pressure.
Too much pressure will reduce the performance of the pneu-
matic tool and leads to faster wear of the abrasive wheel.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning
 Have maintenance and repair work carried out only
through qualified persons. This will ensure that the safe-
ty of the pneumatic tool is maintained.
An authorized Bosch after-sales service agent will carry out
this work quickly and reliably.
Use only original Bosch spare parts.
Regular Cleaning
– Clean the sieve at the air intake of the pneumatic tool regu-
larly. For this, unscrew the hose fitting 5 and remove any
dust and debris from the sieve. Afterwards, retighten the
hose fitting again.
– Water and debris particles in the compressed air cause
rust and lead to wear of plates, valves etc. To prevent this,
fill several drops of engine oil into the air intake 11. Recon-
nect the pneumatic tool to the air supply (see "Connecting
the Air Supply", page 20) and run it for 5 –10 seconds,
while catching/picking up the escaping oil with a cloth. Al-
ways carry out this procedure when not using the pneu-
matic tool for a longer period of time.
Scheduled Maintenance
– Clean the gearbox after the first 150 running hours using a
mild solvent. Follow the solvent manufacturers directions
for use and disposal. Lubricate the gearbox using Bosch
gearbox lube. Repeat the lubrication procedure every
300 hours after the initial gearbox service.

– The motor plates should be checked regularly by special-
ised personnel and replaced, if required.
