5 Configuring interfaces
CAUTION!
After every configuration change, the device restarts functions affected by
the changes.
Analog and digital inputs may assume undesired states during the startup
process.
For this reason, configuration changes must never be made while a system
is operating .
CAUTION!
Improper installation or the wrong settings on the device can result in
unexpected operating states of a plant.
This can disrupt processes or result in damage.
For this reason, it is always necessary to provide safety devices that are
independent of the device and to allow settings to be made only by
technical personnel.
NOTICE!
When changing configuration data that are relevant for the data monitoring
and recording function, data recording is terminated and a new recording
session begun.
Changes to the configuration settings described in this chapter can be
made directly on the device or via the Versatronic PC setup program.
Changing settings in the 'Configuration' menu is possible only if a user is
logged in with the appropriate user rights.
In the operating manual of the Versatronic operation, configuration and parameterization
procedures are explained in detail. Information about user login is also provided there

Settings for serial interfaces
For all user devices on a bus to be able to communicate with one another, their interface
settings must match. The table below shows the setting options for the serial interfaces on
the Versatronic.
Open:
Device menu > Configuration > Serial interface >Serial interface 1 to 2.
