MOSS
It is the organic layer composed of living and dead grass, leaves and roots that forms between the surface of the soil and the
active vegetation.
CAUSE OF THE FORMATION OF THE MOSS
Varieties of fast growing graminaceae, high nitrogen fertilization, residues of previous cutting left around, soil acidity.
PROBLEMS
If the moss layer is high (over 5-6 mm) it adversely affects the quality of the carpet of grass, creating problems that, coupled with
fungal diseases, insects and leafy chlorosis, reduces its resistance to heat, cold, and dry weather.
HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM
Using the special flails C for turf scarification on the PERUZZO grass cutters, which are interchangeable with those for just grass
cutting (type A), they make longitudinal cuts or micro furrows in the ground at a depth varying from 0 to 5-6 mm, which is useful for
removing and taking away the moss, and resulting vegetable residues.
