6.1. Adjusting the drive belt tension
To adjust the drive belts, proceed as follows:
This adjustment must be made with the engine off
and the power take off disengaged.
1- Remove the belt guard by unscrewing the screw
(A) (fig. 16a).
2- Unscrew the nut (B) (fig.16b) and turn the screw (C )
until the right tension is obtained.
A properly tightened belt should flex by about 6mm when
applying a force of 7 Kg.
3- Using a straight bar check that the pulleys are
aligned, in order to prevent overheating and
premature deterioration of the belts (see fig. 16c).
4- Replace the protective guard carefully.

6.2. Replacing belts

To replace the drive belts, proceed as follows:
This operation must be made with the engine off and the power take-off disengaged.
Remove the protective casing (fig. 16a).
Reduce the tension of the belts as described in paragraph 6.1 (fig. 16b).
Change the belts and adjust the tension as described in paragraph 6.1.
Replace the protective guard carefully.
