6.3. Pulleys locking and lock joints fastening

To lock the pulleys proceed as follows:
This operation must be made with the engine off and
the power take off disengaged.

Remove the protective casing. Loosen the tension of
the belt (see paragraph 6.2 "Replacing belts").

Lock the shrink-discs tightening the screws to a torque
of 41 Nm(fig. 17).

Use a bar to check that the pulleys are aligned to avoid
the belts overheating (See fig. 16c). Tighten the screws
alternately.

Adjust the tension of the belts again.
−
Put back the protective casing.
6.4. Knife replacement
To replace the knife, proceed as follows:
This operation must be made with the engine off and the power take off disengaged. Use protective gloves to avoid injuries
due to the sharp edges of the flails.
With the machine connected to the tractor:
- Lift the collector of the machine using
the hydraulic distributor.
- Position the mechanical safety catch
on both hydraulic jacks and secure it
with the relative pin (See fig. 18b).
- To change the flails, get in the position
indicated by the arrow (D) (See fig.
18c).
- Unscrew all the nuts (E) on the door
(F).
- Open the door completely until the
flail shaft is fully visible (See fig. 19).
- Remove spring (G) blocking the pin
(H) pulling out the flail.
- Check the condition of the flails and
replace the broken or worn ones with
original ones (See fig. 19).
- Insert the spring (G) on the pin (H) of
the new flail.
