If longer fuel lines are used their diameter should be increa-
sed (see the data of the engine manufacturer).
To prevent transfer of vibration from the engine the following
elements may be used depending on the type of the engine:
– short inserts of fire-proof rubber hose resistant to diesel fuel
with terminated thread connections,
– elastic low-pressure hoses in metal braiding resistant to die-
sel fuel with special connections.
Hose unions of synthetic materials should not be used in any
case.
When mounting auxiliary elements pay special attention to
the following:
– Pipeline fastening brackets should be located at such
distance from one another as to exclude vibration resonan-
ce phenomenon and bending of pipelines under their own
weight (particularly, if these pipelines are made of copper).
– All connections should be hermetically tight to exclude suc-
tion of air. Otherwise, the fuel mixture is bound to be poor
and the engine will be difficult to start.
– The fuel lines should end below the main fuel tank at a
height of approximately 20 - 30 cm from the floor.
The feed and return lines should be separated by not less than
30 cm to exclude penetration of warm return fuel containing
air into the engine.
– The fuel lines should be always kept in a clean state.
– Avoid sharp bends of pipelines. All bends should have a
large turning radius.
The figure shows the layout of the fuel system with an external
fuel tank, storage tank and an electric pump.
Tehe max. pressure should not exceed 0,8 bar.
