The tasks described in this section may only be
carried out by a qualified electrician.
6.1

Switching on the device

Electric shock hazard when devices are damaged
Use of a damaged device may result in electric shock.
f Do not use the device if it is damaged.
f Mark the damaged device to ensure that no one contin-
ues using it.
f Eliminate damage immediately.
f Stop the device if necessary.
Put the charging column into operation:
f Make sure that all safety devices (residual current circuit
breaker and miniature circuit breaker) are installed in
the charging column and activated.
f Turn on the supply voltage.
The LED on the power supply unit will light.

6.2 Inserting the SIM card

Inserting the SIM card is only required for char-
ging systems with integrated MENNKES ACU.
Costs of the mobile communications connection
There is a risk of considerable costs being incurred with
mobile telephony contracts with limited data volume plans!
Data is transferred when communication takes place via
mobile communications networks. Therefore, only use SIM
cards from mobile telephony contracts in which the data
volume is not limited (for example, flat-rate plans).
Preparing the SIM Card
Before the SIM card can be inserted into the charging
system, the PIN will need to be deactivated with most
SIM cards. A mobile telephone without a SIM lock will be
required for this purpose.
f Insert the card into a non-SIM-locked mobile telephone.
f Switch on the mobile telephone and enter the SIM
card's PIN.
