Structure and Function
7.1 Structure
The angle seat valve consists of a pneumatically actuated piston actuator and a 2/2-way valve housing.
The actuator is manufactured from 1.4404. The tried and tested, self-adjusting V-shaped packing ensures
high tightness. The flow-enhancing valve housing made of stainless steel enables high flow values.
7.2 Function
Depending on the version, the seat of the valve is closed with or against the medium flow.
Spring force (SFA) or pneumatic control pressure (SFB) generates the closing force on the disk.
The force is transferred via a spindle which is connected to the actuator piston.
7.2.1
Control functions
Control function A (SFA)
Closed by spring force in rest position.
Control function B (SFB)
Opened by spring force in rest position.
7.2.2
incoming flow under seat
Depending on the version, the valve is closed against the medium flow by spring force (control function A,
SFA) or by control pressure (control function B, SFB).
As the medium pressure is under the disk, this pressure contributes to the opening of the valve.
WARNING!
Medium may be discharged if minimum control pressure is too low or medium
pressure too high!
If the minimum control pressure is too low for SFB or the permitted medium pressure is
exceeded, leaks may occur.
•
Observe minimum control pressure
•
Do not exceed medium pressure
