Additional Information to Chapter "Maintenance/Repair"
• With the pump running, set the stroke length to zero. Switch off pump.
• Release liquid end screws and detach liquid end together with mounting screws.
• Using both hands, release the working diaphragm (6) (see fig. 1) by jolting in counterclockwise direction
from the adapter (2) and unscrew.
• Remove intermediate disc (5) and check the condition of the safety diaphragm (4)
• If the safety diaphragm is broken, replace by a new diaphragm (see 2.2).
• Place intermediate disc (5) on end disc.
• using both hands, secure new working diaphragm (6) hand-tight.
• See 2.2 for further assembly procedure.
5.2.
Repairing Diaphragm Failure Sensor
WARNING
• Disconnect the diaphragm failure sensor from the power supply!
• Take the necessary precautionary and protective measures if dangerous or unknown metered
media are used!
• After diaphragm failure, there will be metered medium in the diaphragm failure sensor and the feed
channel in the intermediate disc (5).
• The diaphragm failure sensor must be checked after every diaphragm failure and the separating
diaphragm replaced if necessary (when the metered medium crystallises or carried dirt and
particles).
5.2.1.
Replacing Separating Diaphragm of the Diaphragm Failure Sensor
• Grasp the diaphragm failure sensor at the upper section (2).
• Hold the body (5) with an open-ended spanner – not the paint-locked nut!
• Unscrew the diaphragm failure sensor.
• Clean the soiled parts.
• Place the new separating diaphragm (3), light side first (PTFE) in the upper section (2).
• Fit washer (4) in upper section (2).
• Fit the spring in the body (5).
• Move body (5) up to upper section (2).
• Check that the spring (6) fits correctly on the spring seat (3)a.
• Screw the body (5) into the upper section and firmly tighten.
• Check the diaphragm failure sensor.
