Electrical Data
5-25 V DC, in compliance with Namur and DIN 19234, potential-free.
Voltage rating: 8 V DC (R
~ 1 KΩ)
i
Power consumption:
active surface uncovered >3 mA
active surface covered
Nominal switch interval: 1.5 mm
The evaluation/power supply unit must be able to evaluate current changes in order to signal a diaphragm
rupture.
Enclosure rating: EEx ia II C T 6 and/or EEx ib II C T 6
For technical data, see specifications for proximity switch PM motor-driven metering pumps
TM MOZ 001 7/95 G.
The sensor may only be used in the EX zone with a suitable feeding device.
ATTENTION
• The diaphragm failure sensor must be connected electrically!
• A diaphragm failure signal evaluation facility must be installed by the customer or the metering
pump must be shut down reliably after a diaphragm failure signal!

Additional Information to Chapter "Maintenance / Repair"
ATTENTION
The additional diaphragm is a wearing part and should be replaced following failure of the second
working diaphragm or after 10,000 hours of pump operation.
The separating diaphragm of the diaphragm failure sensor must be replaced after each failure of the
working diaphragm.
After changing the working diaphragm, the condition of the safety diaphragm (additional diaphragm)
should be established by visual inspection.

Replacing Working Diaphragm / Additional Diaphragm
WARNING
• First flush the liquid end in connection with hazardous metered media. For this purpose, use a
spray bottle to force water or a suitable flushing agent through the intake connection of the liquid
end.
• Take the necessary precautionary and protective measures if dangerous or unknown metered
media are used!
• After diaphragm failure, there will be metered medium in the diaphragm failure sensor and the feed
channel in the intermediate disc (5).
