See operating instruction ProMinent EXtronic
IMPORTANT
Only correspondingly authorised persons are permitted to carry out installation in hazardous
locations.
2.2.
Installation Description, Mechanical / Hydraulic
• Set pump stroke to "0". Stop pump.
• Fit end disc in the spring housing.
• Screw preassembled PTFE safety diaphragm, consisting (2),(3), (4) (see fig. 1) onto set screw as far as it
will go. While doing so, secure the drive bush with a metal pin to prevent it turning and use a 24 mm open-
ended spanner to tighten the intermediate bush (3) to a torque of 4.5 – 5 Nm.
• Place intermediate disc (5) on end disc.
• Using both hands, secure working diaphragm (6) hand-tight.
• Turn the bushing in the spring housing (diaphragm must not work loose) until the holes in the PTFE safety
diaphragm (4) are aligned with those in the spring housing and end disc.
• Preassemble the liquid end (do not yet firmly tighten mounting screws). The intake connection of the liquid
end (7) must face vertically downward. The hole in the intermediate disc (5) for the diaphragm failure
monitor (9) must point towards the bottom right.
• Switch on pump and set to "1.25".
• Stop pump.
• Tighten head screws crosswise to 4.5 – 5 Nm
• Mount diaphragm failure monitor (9) together with the PTFE seal: Firmly tighten by hand.

Additional Information to Chapter "Troubleshooting"
Pump does not reach high pressures and does not draw in medium despite full stroke movement
Cause:
Working diaphragm broken without triggering alarm.
Remedy: Immediately replace working diaphragm (see "Changing the Diaphragm", Chapter 5), change
separating diaphragm of the diaphragm failure signalling facility, carry out electrical check of failure
sensor.
Diaphragm failure signalling facility triggers alarm
Cause:
Working diaphragm broken; cable of diaphragm failure signalling facility broken.
Remedy: Immediately replace working diaphragm (see "Changing the Diaphragm", Chapter 5), change
separating diaphragm of the diaphragm failure sensor, carry out electrical check of failure sensor.
