Important safety instructions for appliances with vacuum
function:
Attention! Danger of fire!
Sawdust in the dust bag (or in the filter bag of the vacuum)
may ignite in certain unfavourable conditions, for example,
if flying sparks are generated by filing metal or metal pieces
in wood, particularly if it contains traces of varnish or other
chemical substances and the metal being filed has been
worked for a long period and is hot.
Many thanks
for your confidence in STORCH. Thus, you have decided
to buy a quality product.
However, if you have ideas for an improvement or a
problem, do not hesitate to contact us.
Please address our representative or us in urgent cases.

1. Application
The eccentric disc sander is intended for sanding and
poishing wood, plastic and metal materials as well as
painted, flat and rounded surfaces.
2. Saefty Instructions and Accident Prevention
Before operating the machine, please read through the
operating instructions completely, follow the Saftely
Instructions in this manual as well as the general Saftely
Instructions for Power Tools.
Important instructions, which should be read before starting
operation, and which we strongly recommend observing:
If the mains cable is damaged while working, pull the mains
plug immediately.
Never work with a damaged mains cable.
Wear protective glasses, hearing protection, protective
gloves and sturdy shoes.
The dust that is produced while working is detrimental to
health. Use dust extraction and wear a dust mask.
The machine can be used only for dry sanding.
Do not work with materials containing asbestos.
Do not carry the machine by the cable.
The mains receptacles in the working area must be
protected by a residual current circuit breaker (RC).
Do not drill holes into the housing to label the machine.
The protective insulations will be bridged. Please use self-
adhesive labels.
3. Noise/vibration information
Measured values determined according to EN 50 260.
Sound pressure level:
Sound power level:
Work place emission value:
For operation, noise protection measures are required.
The acceleration measured is usually less than 2,5 m/s .

5. Mounting the Auxiliary Handle and the Mains Cable
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains plug.
For working in confined places, e.g. when sanding stairs,
the rubber head 8 can be taken off by removing the 4 screws
on the rubber head.
Mount the auxiliary handle 6 onto the machine especially
for doing polishing work. Screw the auxiliary hanlde 6 onto
the right or left side of the machine head, depending on
the working mode.
Connect the mains cable module to the handle. The plug
must latch.
Use the mains cable module provided only for STORCH
Electro-Tools. Do not attempt to operate other machines
with the module.
Only use original STORCH mains cable modules.
6. Putting into Operation
Checking before putting into operation that the mains
voltage agrees with the voltage specified on the 2nameplate
of the machine.
Switching on and off
Turn the switching ring 1 in the direction of the arrow. At
the end of the turn the locking switch 2 automatically
engages.
By pressing the tilted-up front edge of the locking switch 2,
the switching ring 1 returns to ist initial position and the
machine slowly comes to a standstill.
Full-pulse wave electronics with tacho-signal recognition
The speed is kept constant due to the integrated full-pulse
wave electronics with tacho-signal recognition.
Gentle-start acceleration is also integrated in the
electronics.
The motor slowly accelerates until the pre-determined speed
is reached, thereby reducing the strain on both the user
and the transmission and prolonging the service life of the
machine.
The electronic overload protection limits the speed if there
80 dB (A)
is danger of the load causing damage to the motor. The
93 dB (A)
load on the machine must be reduced in order for the full
83 dB (A)
capacity to be made available again. This is best done by
briefly taking the machine away from the work piece.
The thumbwheel 5 enables the optimum speed to be pre-
selected, also while running. The speed required will depend
on the working material and is determined by trial and error
(see application table).
