Electrical interference during measurements in laboratories
• A pH electrode emits small quantities of
reference electrolyte (e.g. KCl, 3M) into
the measuring solution. The measurement
of electrolytic conductivity can as a result
be incorrect during parallel conductivity/pH
measurements in measuring solutions of a
very low conductance. A remedy would
be: large volumes of measuring solution,
short duration of measurement, no
calibration in this parallel mode
