4.8 Switching the microscope and the
ballast unit for the HBO 100 on and
off
Axio Observer 3 materials:
•
Switch the microscope on and off using the
power switch (on the left of the stand,
Fig. 11/1).
Axio Observer 5 materials:
•
Switch the microscope on and off using the
power button (Fig. 11/1).
Axio Observer 7 materials:
•
Switch on the microscope's external power
supply unit.
•
Start up the microscope using the standby
button (on the left of the stand, Fig. 11/1).
•
To switch the microscope off, press the standby button then switch off the external power supply unit.
The monitoring LED (3, Fig. 11) lights up when the microscope is on.
Ballast unit:
•
If a fluorescence illuminator (e.g. HBO 100) is connected, switch the ballast unit on (Fig. 11/2) and off
using the power switch.

Switching off the instrument

The Axio Observer 3 materials can be disconnected from the mains using the power switch on the
microscope.
Use the standby button on the left of the stand of the Axio Observer 5 materials, 7 materials to shut
down the internal computer in the microscope. The device is not disconnected from the power supply.
If the Axio Observer 7 materials is not used for a longer period, the external power supply unit 7 materials
can be disconnected from the mains using its on/off switch. Disconnect Axio Observer 5 materials from
the power supply.
