81. Use 15-minute epoxy to glue the tail wheel wire into the
rudder. Follow the same procedure as the elevator joiner
wire when gluing the tail wheel wire into position.
82. Apply thread lock to the M3 setscrew. Attach the tail
wheel to the wire using a 3mm wheel collar and M3
setscrew. Tighten the setscrew using a 1.5mm hex
wrench.
 Use the foam tail wheel for quieter operation
when using EP power systems from asphalt runways,
or the rubber tail wheel for grass runways.
83. Use a hobby knife to remove the covering at the rear of
the fuselage for the lower rudder hinge.
84. Prepare and install the rudder hinges. Fit the rudder into
position using the hinges. Align the top of the rudder with
the fi n. The hinges can be glued using thin CA at this
time. Check the hinges, then break them in once the CA
fully cures.
85. Align the holes in the tail wheel bracket with the fuselage
center line. Use a felt-tipped pen to mark the locations
for the tail wheel bracket screws on the bottom of the
fuselage.

86. Use a drill and 5/32-inch (2mm) drill bit to drill the holes
for the bracket screws. The tail wheel bracket is secured
using M3 x 10 sheet metal screws. Make sure to prepare
the holes by using a #2 Phillips screwdriver to install
the M3 x 10 sheet metal screws into the holes, then
removing them. Apply thin CA into each hole and allow
it to fully cure before installing the screws. Use a #2
Phillips screwdriver to install the screws.
87. Slide the tail wheel collar against the bracket. Apply
threadlock to the setscrew, then tighten it using a 1.5mm
hex wrench.

INSTALLATION

88. Use a hobby knife and #11 blade to remove the control
horn backplate from the control horn.
89. Use a pin vise and 5/32-inch (2mm) drill bit to puncture
the covering for the elevator control horn screws.
90. Insert the three M2 x 14 machine screws into the holes
of the control horn, then into the holes in the elevator.
