Installation instructions
Safety instructions
This device contains parts that could cause sparks or a
light arc!
The device must be connected to the mains power supply
in accordance with the respective valid national installation
regulations.
Only qualified technicians may assemble and connect electri-
cal devices!
Ensure that the power supply has been disconnected! Discon-
nect the mains plug!
Only use the supplied parts and the specified cable cross-sec-
tions and fuses to connect the device!
Only use suitable and fully functional tools.
Only wire the device as specified in the supplied wiring diagram!
Installation
Remove the equipment pack (accessories) and check it is
complete:
1 instructions for installation and use
2 M4 screws
2 M4 nuts
2 washers
The device should be installed away from damp and wet. The
installation site should be clean, dry and well ventilated. Dur-
ing operation, the casing can heat up to around 75 °C. There-
fore observe a minimum clearance of 100 mm and ensure that
the ventilation slits are not covered.
The installation space for the device must have ventilation
openings at the top and side that provide a total opening sur-
face of 100 cm².
Liquid electrolyte batteries need to be placed in a separate
box with ventilation directed to the outside. The gel and AGM
batteries do not need a separate box. Observe the installation
regulations of the battery manufacturer.
Ensure that the ventilation slits remain free! There
should be a minimum clearance of 100 mm all round!
Inadequate ventilation can cause the device to overheat!
The device is designed for operation in an ambient temperature
of up to 35 °C. If the temperature inside the device increases
due to a lack of circulating air or due to the fact that the ambi-
ent temperature is too high, the charging current is automati-
cally reduced gradually.
The device can be installed in a lying position (horizontal) or
hanging position (vertical) but may not be installed upside down.
Mounting Module B to Module A2
Before Module B can be commissioned, the Module B must
be attached and connected to Module A2.
Before connecting or disconnecting the cables, the
supply lines to the battery and mains supply must be
disconnected!
Working on Module A2
Before the clamping space cover is removed, the 230 V con-
nection cable must be disconnected from the mains supply.
Remove the clamping space cover from Module A2 (see in-
structions for installation and use for Module A2).
Module A2 has 3 edge connectors on the right-hand side for
connecting a Module B. The middle 4-pin edge connector is
fitted with a bridging plug ex-works. This plug must be re-
moved before attaching Module B.
Working on Module B
Removing the clamping space cover
The clamping space cover needs to be removed to exchange
the flat pin fuse or to attach or detach cables. Unscrew the
screws of the clamping space cover (see fig. 1, no. 2) and
remove the clamping space cover by pulling it forward.
The clamping space cover is reattached in reverse order.
Please ensure that the pegs of the clamping space cover are
pushed into the slits in the rear lid of the casing.
Connect the edge connectors
The matching counterpart to the edge connectors are located
on the left side of the Module B. Join Module B and Module A2
so that the edge connectors audibly click into position on
Module A2. The sides of the Module A2 and B must lie flush
against each other.
Create the protective conductor connection, screw the
casing on tight.
Remove the clamping space cover from Module A2.
There is one drilled hole respectively on the left side (front / top)
of Module B and on the right side of Module A2 (front / top)
(fig. 1, no. 3) for an M4 screw.
The protective conductor connection between the
Modules A2 and B needs to be created with an M4
screw, a washer, a spring washer and a nut (respectively in
delivery scope).
There is one further drilled hole respectively on the left side
(back / top) of Module B and on the right side of Module A2
(back / top) (fig.1, no. 8) for an M4 screw.
The modules are attached to each other using the enclosed
screw. Guide the screw between the cooling fins into the
drilled hole and screw the casing of the Modules A2 and B
together using the supplied spring washer and the nut.
Attach the device with two screws.
