cONNecTION TO AN eLecTRIc mOTOR (8 ANd 18 ONLY)
These pumps can be connected directly (no reduction unit necessary) to a MEC 71, 4-pole (50/60 Hz)
electric motor (Ø 14 mm drive shaft) with a B14 type flange or a NEMA 56, 4-pole (50/60 Hz) electric
motor (Ø 5/8" drive shaft).
The motors can have either clockwise or counter clockwise rotation.

• Before connecting the pump to the motor, place the sealing ring for the rotating shaft (supplied with the
pump) on the drive shaft as shown in Fig. 5.
These pumps are applied to a special 2-pole (50/60 Hz) electric motor (with special toothed shaft and
flange, contact the Manufacturer for their specifications) by means of a built-in reduction unit (reduction
ratio 1:4.33).
The motors must have counter clockwise rotation (as seen from the pump side).

cauTion
• Before connecting the pump to the engine, place the sealing ring for rotating shaft (supplied with the pump)
on the drive as shown in Fig. 5.
The pump is applied to a special combustion engine (with special toothed shaft and flange; contact the
Manufacturer for their specifications) by means of a built-in reduction unit (reduction ratio 1:3.25 for the
8 and 18; reduction ratio 1:6.75 for the 20/20 and 25)

The pump is applied by means of a built-in reduction unit to a combustion engine with SAE J609a flange
and 3/4" or 5/8" shaft (reduction ratio 1:3.25 for the 8 and 18; reduction ratio 1:4.33 for the 20/20 and 25)

WarninG
• Protect moving parts appropriately.
• The pump rotation speed must be between 400 and 650 rpm.
• The pump must be securely fixed with its feet to a stable base.
The pulley or the 1" 3/8 cardan shaft (available on request) are secured to a Ø 17 feather key shaft.
Follow the instructions provided in the relevant section in part one.
In particular, the suction circuit must be dimensioned so that the pressure on the pump suction coupling:
• does not exceed 0.1 bar/1.45 psi
• the vacuum does not exceed 0.25 bar / 3.63 psi.
