Mounting the Car Body

• First, mount the car body holders if they are included with your vehicle separately (see chapter 11).
If the car body already has the corresponding bores for mounting on the chassis, the car body holders
must be placed accordingly to put the wheels exactly into the wheel cut-outs.
If no bores are present yet, choose a mounting position for the car body, so that the car body holders will
later be located in suitable places of the car body (not in places with too strong an inclination like a rear
windshield, not below a tail spoiler, etc.).
• Set the car body holders so that the car body is about horizontal. Adjust the car body holders to be exactly vertical.
• To precisely determine the positions for the holes for the car body holders in a car body already painted, there are
different aids, e.g. pointed marker pens to replace the car body holders with.
You can also put a drop of oil, grease or paint on the top of each car body holder. Chalk marks work as well.
Placing the car body above the vehicle according to the wheel cut-outs, a bit of the marker aid used by you will get
to the inside of the car body.
Mark this point with a pencil.
You can also turn the car body and chassis on their heads and mark the positions with a long pen from below.
If the positions are marked or drilled incorrectly, the car body wheel cut-outs will not match later, and the
wheels will drag against the car body. Therefore, proceed very carefully.
• Before drilling a hole in the marked position, measure the spaces of the car body holders (from the left to the right)
and mark them at the car body accordingly. The mirror-inverted hole placement at the longitudinal axis must be
inspected and adjusted, if required, as well.
First drill one hole each at the marked positions, using a small drill (1 mm) and check the correct position using the
car body holders at the vehicle.
• Use a larger drill, round file or suitable car body hole drill to then create the final car body bores (according to the
diameter of the pins on the car body holders).
• Last, drill the hole for the aerial tube of the receiver aerial in a similar manner.
• Put the car body onto the chassis, guide the aeroial tube through the associated hole. Secure the car body with
retention brackets.
