ETTING THE
IFFERENTIALS
The differentials of the COUGAR 4.1 are filled with grease. The viscosity of the grease leads to a lock of the differential which is suitable for most terrains
and conditions. By exchanging the grease against highly viscose silicone differential oil the locking effect can be modified. The higher the viscosity, the
greater the locking effect.
-
If the model swerves in bends when loaded, you can loosen the rear differential or lock the front differential.
-
If the model understeers when loaded, lock the rear differential or loosen the front differential.
You can choose between silicone oil with a viscosity of XR 1,000 (small locking effect) to XR 50,000 (great locking effect).
NOTE! We only recommend exchanging the transmission grease to experienced users who know their model and have adequate
technical skills for taking out and disassembling the differentials.

IN OF THE
To set the toe-in of the rear wheels the toe-in block has to be exchanged.
-
Pull the E-rings from the axles of the lower transverse links.
If you exchange the toe-in block with another one with a greater hole distance, the transverse
links are no longer parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, but at an angle. The alignment
angle of the rear wheels changes accordingly.
M
ECHANICAL LOWERING
For lowering the chassis, it is possible to mechanically limit the top-out path.
To do so, one screw each can be screwed in from the top into the bottom transverse links, sup-
porting against the chassis.

TABILISERS
To reduce body roll (curl) of the vehicle when going through bends, the model is equipped with a
transverse stabiliser at the rear; the vehicle can be retrofitted with a transverse stabiliser at the
front.
A transverse stabiliser is made of a u-shaped curved spring steel wire, which is at both ends con-
nected with one of the lower transverse arms via ball-shaped heads. For this reason, two steering
points for the ball-shaped heads are provided (a). In the centre, the wire bracket is mounted to
rotate on the differential housing. The boreholes for the mounting are also provided (b). When one
wheel is deflected, the other wheel is then also deflected via the bracket. The transverse stabiliser
also supports the effect of the oil-dampened shock absorber when the wheel is rebounding, since
the restoring force of the wire bracket supports the rebounding of the shock absorber (against the
friction in the piston).
In this way, the wheel remains in contact with the ground in every situation.

CKERMANN
FFECT
To adjust the progressivity of the steering angle or the Ackermann effect, the steering links can be
reset to other steering points both in the steering arms and in the steering plate.

AMPING
To further optimize the damper characteristics, we offer, in our accessories, silicon oil for the shock absorbers in different viscosities!
Our product range also includes tuning springs of various hardness.
