seat shell counterclockwise until the foot rest can be
moved Make sure not to turn the clamp lever more
than necessary, otherwise there is a risk of the lever
popping out of the thread To deactivate the foot rest
mechanism, turn the clamp lever clockwise until the
foot rest is firmly locked again
Important!
In case of a fault in the mobility of the
seat shell, always check the pelvis
mechanism first and then the foot rest
mechanism!
Option of adjusting foot angle
The foot angle adjustment is located on the connection
between the foot rest and the center tube of the foot
rest You can adjust this as follows:
Turn the clamp lever counterclockwise to loosen it
Now move the foot rest into the desired position
Hold this position with one hand
Now turn the clamp lever clockwise and tighten
firmly
Tip!
There is a trick to using the clamp lever
if you don't have enough room to turn
the lever the full 360° Turn the clamp lever as far
as possible in the desired direction until it won't
turn anymore and then pull it straight out This
unlocks the catch mechanism on the clamp lever
and you can now turn back the lever without influ-
encing the previously selected adjustment grade
Foot pedals
The foot pedals are bolted in place onto the foot rest,
these are already fitted ex-works and need not be ad-
justed further However, as slipping of the legs is una-
voidable for foot pedals, fixation of the feet is generally
recommended
Heel stops
Heel stops are already permanently fitted ex-works and
no longer require any adjustment Heel stops prevent
slipping of the feet backwards
Foot fixation Foot restraints support the dynamic
range of the AKTIVLINE
be gently placed around the ankles to achieve a snug
fit without exerting any pressure Tensioning of the
straps is only effective if they bend the foot to 90°
This requires leg and foot guidance which enables a
a right-angled angle The strap runs across the ankle

joint and both ends of the strap are screwed to the foot
rest The images illustrate how the foot restraints are
to be applied
Foot straps
The foot straps provide for the proper positioning of
the feet in order to support proper positioning of the
pelvis and upper body The foot straps relieve pressure
on the ankles and improve the placement of the feet
Knee support
Next to pelvic fixation, the knee support is an important
part in terms of adjustment for the correct functioning
of the AKTIVLINE
if a knee support is necessary With
®
the aid of the knee support, the patient is given the
opportunity of utilizing the dynamics of the foot rest
system The dynamics of the foot rest system are sup-
ported by use of the foot restraints already described
above (see section on previous page)
Observe the following instructions for the adjustment
of the knee support:
The knee support should be fitted such that it lies
just below the knee cap on the patella tendon As
the knee cap moves up and down during bending
and stretching of the leg, you must ensure that the
knee cap is not restricted in its movement by the
knee support
The knee support needs to fit closely to the patella
tendon but without applying any pressure
Make sure that the locking mechanism of the knee
support engages properly and ensures a secure
fit of the knee support Depending on the model,
the knee support is either fitted flexibly with a belt
webbing (with one side permanently fixed to the
shell and on other side with a deflection roller and
fleece and Velcro) or rigidly with adjustment plates
and hinges (with one side permanently fixed to the
shell and the other side with a press connection),
or both sides fitted with press connections The
