Mounting the lower push bar (see Figs. 3 and 4)
Insert the U-shaped lower push bar into the
holes in the housing (Fig. 3).
Now you can fasten the lower push bar using the
screws supplied (Fig. 4/Item 2c).
Mounting the upper push bar (see Figs. 5 and 6)
Position the upper push bar (Fig. 5/Item 2b) such
that its holes line up with the holes of the lower
bar.
Insert the screw (Fig. 5/Item 2f) with washer (Fig.
5/Item 2e) through the tubes from the outside.
Screw the handlebars together using a star grip
(Fig. 5/Item 5).
Attach the handlebar opposite.
Using the cable clips supplied (Fig. 6/Item 2d),
attach the power cable on the inside of the tubes
of the push bar, so that it is possible to open and
shut the ejector flap (Fig. 1/Item 7).
Important!
Please ensure that the ejector flap can be opened
and closed easily!
Then fit the cable stress-relief clip (Fig. 7/Item 4)
as shown in Figure 7.
Mounting the height adjustment
(see Figs. 8 and 9)
Screw the central rod assembly together with the
pre-mounted upper rod assembly as in Fig. 8.
Important – left-handed thread!
Then screw together with the lower rod assembly
using the screw (Figure 9/Item 8b).
Assembling the grass basket (see Figs. 10-12)
Fit the grass basket parts as shown in Fig. 10.
To fasten the grass basket, pull the rubber clips
over the small frame (Fig. 11).
To hang the grass basket on the scarifier you
must lift the ejector flap (Fig. 1/Item 7) with one
hand and with the other hand take hold of the
grass bag by the handle and hook it onto the
scarifier from above (Fig. 12).
Important! Before you ever hook the grass
basket to the scarifier you must ensure that the
motor is switched off and the cutting unit is not
rotating.
Adjusting the scarifier depth (see Fig. 13)
The scarifier depth is set using the handle (Fig.
13/Item 8) on the rod assembly for the height
adjustment.
Push the engage handle (Fig. 13/Item 6) forward
and set the desired depth (+/-).
To test the working depth, push the operating
lever back and start the machine up. Gently push
the scarifier forward and slowly pull the operating
16
lever forward. Repeat this process as many
times as required until the desired working depth
is achieved.
Electrical connection
The equipment can be connected to any normal
socket with 230V AC. It is only acceptable to connect
it to a shockproof socket with a 16A circuit breaker.
Furthermore, a residual-current-operated protective
device with max. 30 mA should be connected
upstream.
Power cable
Please only use power cables that are not damaged.
The total length of the power cable should not
exceed 50 meters; going beyond this distance will
reduce the power output of the electric motor. The
power cable must have a cross-section of 3 x 1.5
mm2. The insulating sheath of scarifier power cables
is frequently damaged.
Some of the causes for this are:
Cracking from running over the cable
n
Pinching when the power cable is dragging
n
under doors and pulled through windows
Cracking due to old age of the insulation
n
Kinking by improperly fastening or guiding the
n
power cable
The power cables must, at the very minimum, be of
type HO5RN-F and 3-stranded. The cable type must
be printed somewhere on the power cable. Only
purchase power cables that are marked as such!
Plugs and socket couplers for the power cables must
be made from rubber and be splash-proof. There is a
limit to how long power cables can be. Longer power
cables require larger conductor cross-sections.
Power cables and connecting lines must be regularly
checked for damage. Ensure that the lines are de-
energized before checking them. Completely unwind
the power cable. Also check power cable entry
points, plugs and socket couplers for kinks.

7. Operation

Connect the machineʼs power supply cable to the
plug (Fig. 14/Item 3) and secure the power cable with
the stress-relief clip (Fig 14).
Important! To prevent accidental start-up of the
equipment, the push-bar (Fig. 1 / Item 2) is equipped
with a safety lock-off (Fig. 15 / Item 1a) which must
be pressed before the lever switch (Fig. 15 / Item 1)
can be pressed. If the lever switch is released, the
equipment switches off.
Repeat this process several times so that you are
