c) Battery Operation
• If the inserted rechargeable batteries are flat and you have no other set of fully charged rechargeable
batteries, you may also use common non-rechargeable batteries to operate the recorder.
As already described in chapter 8. a), the recorder must not be connected to a computer's
USB port or the mains adapter in battery operation, because this would cause charging.
Non-rechargeable batteries must not be charged. It may cause fire or explosion!
• Open the cover on the back and insert two batteries, type AA/Mignon, in the correct polarity.
We recommend the use of high-quality alkaline batteries.
• Attach the cover again and let it latch.
d) Mains Operation
• The recorder can also be operated without rechargeable or common batteries, e.g. if you want to
operate it stationarily.
• Fold open the transparent rubber cover on the bottom of the recorder. Then connect the miniature USB
port (24) to a free USB port on your computer (or to a USB hub with its own mains adapter) or to the
USB port of the included mains adapter using the included USB cable. Switch on the computer or plug
the mains adapter into a mains socket.
• In mains operation, the lower right of the display shows the icon " ".
