18. Maintenance and Care

Switch off the recorder and disconnect it from any external power supply before cleaning it.
The recorder is maintenance-free except for exchanging the batteries/rechargeable batteries; never
disassemble it (except for the procedures described in these operating instructions for inserting or
exchanging the batteries/rechargeable batteries).
Clean the outside with a dry, clean, soft cloth. Never press too hard on the LC display; it may cause
scratches or damage to the LC display!
Dust can be very easily removed with a brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Never use any aggressive cleansing agents or chemical solutions since these may damage the casing or
impair its function.

19. Disposal

a) General Information

Dispose of the product according to the applicable statutory provisions at the end of its service
life.
Remove any inserted batteries/rechargeable batteries and dispose of them separately from
the product.
b) Disposal of Used Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable
batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Batteries and rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are marked with adjacent

symbol to indicate that disposal in the household waste is prohibited. The descriptions for the
respective heavy metal are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead.
You may return used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official collection points of your
community, in our stores, or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
