9. Setting Up the Transmitter

In the operating instructions, the numbers in the text always refer to the figure opposite or the figures within
the section. Cross-references to other figures will be indicated by the corresponding figure number. Upon
delivery, the transmitter is set to mode II.

a) Inserting the Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries

The power supply of the transmitter requires 6 alkaline batteries (e.g. Conrad Item No.: 652504, set of 4, order 1x).
Important:
Use batteries only (1.5 V/cell) instead of rechargeable batteries (1.2 V/cell) for transmitter power supply.
Proceed as follows to insert the batteries:
The battery compartment lid (1) is located on the back of
the transmitter. Press the corrugated area (2) and push off
the lid downwards. Now insert the 8 batteries or recharge-
able batteries into the battery compartment.
Observe the correct polarity of the individual cells. The po-
larity is indicated (3) at the bottom of the battery compart-
ment.
Then slide the lid of the battery compartment back on from
the bottom until the locking mechanism engages.
b) Switching on the Transmitter
Move the control stick with the latch function (also see fig-
ure 1, item 4) to the bottom position right at your body.
Slide the function switch (also see figure 1, item 5) from the
left position to the right position "On".
The display (also see figure 1, item 6) shows a reading and
thus indicates that your transmitter is ready for operation.
Attention!
If the power supply is no longer sufficient for pro-
per operation, your transmitter will emit short
alarm sounds at regular intervals.
In this case, terminate flight operation of the
model immediately And insert a new set of
batteries in the transmitter.
