f) Basic Information Relevant to the Control of Model Helicopters

Before you fly your model, you should first familiarize yourself with the control possibilities open to you and thereby be
able to fly safely. The indoor helicopter is controlled with the aid of the two control sticks on the transmitter.
Observe that the mode used will lead to different control movements being performed for stick move-
ments!
The following functions are available:
Pitch Function:
The flight height of a helicopter is affected by the pitch function. The control of this function is carried out with the
control stick with latch function.
To that effect, the control lever can be moved forward and backward. Unlike with other control functions, the lever does
not keep springing back to the centre position. Regulation of the flight altitude will be achieved by concurrent speed
change of the two rotors.
Pulling the control stick towards you switches off the motors and the rotors stop. If you push the control stick forward,
the rotors run and increase the speed according to the position of the stick. When the control lever reaches the centre
position, the helicopter should hover.
