General description of the machine

The Green Pointer Pro is a grinder with a
diamond wheel for wet grinding of
tungstenelectrodes. This unique construction
along with the well-known benefits of
wetgrinding offers many advantages in term of
obtaining a perfect welding result.
The special grinding liquid in the sealed
grinding chamber prevents emission of
contaminated dust particles into the air. The
grinding liquid also prevent discolouration of the
tungstenelectrode due to the heat, which has a
negative effect of the welding process.
The unique structure of the tungsten electrode
holder and feeding method together with the
tangential grinding of the surface of the
diamond wheel ensure fine-grained grinding in
the lengthwise direction of the tungsten
electrode, which is important to its ignition
capability.
To ensure minimum grinding of the tungsten
electrode, a combined electrode stick-out (0.3-
0.5 mm) and locking device is located on the
front of the machine. The grinding angle is
infinitely adjustable from 7.5 to 90 degrees (half
angle). In the 90-degree position, you can take
out the outermost tip of the electrode, using a
micrometre screw. This is of importance to the
electrode's tool life at high welding currents.
An easily replaceable container for collection of
toxic dust is placed under the machine.

Upon receipt please check the delivery contents
which include the following items:
 Green Pointer Pro with a diamond wheel
 Instruction manual and data sheet for the
grinding liquid
 Dust collector with grinding liquid
 Tungsten electrode holder
 Electrode clamp Ø 1.6 mm
 Electrode clamp Ø 2.4 mm
 Electrode clamp Ø 3.2 mm
 Console incl. bolts and nuts for mounting

Initial operation and transport

Place the Green Pointer Pro on the console.
Fasten the machine to the console and mount
the plate underneath. Then fasten the machine
to a table, if necessary.
The switch must be in "OFF" position.
Connect the Green Pointer Pro to the mains
voltage stated on the type plate. Use single-
phase earthed power suppy.
The Green Pointer Pro must not run without
grinding liquid!
The Green Pointer Pro does not contain
grinding liquid on delivery. Prior to initial
operation, fill the Green Pointer Pro with
grinding liquid.
Mount the dust collector (39). Using the filler
neck on the liquid container, fill Green Pointer
grinding liquid through the tapping hose (29)
into the grinding chamber to the correct fluid
level (see the ~~~ mark on frame (7)). The fluid
level is correct if through the inspection cover
you can see the diamond wheel draw up fluid
when the machine is running.
For safety reasons, the grinding liquid must be
drained from the Green Pointer Pro into a
sealed closed container during transport.
The Green Pointer Pro can be operated in
locations with surrounding temperatures
ranging from 0C to +40C and a relative
humidity up to 50% at 40C and 90% at 20C.
The machine has been tested according to
protection class IP21.
