Cut off one plug on the twisted pair cable 18 for Ether-
net networks. Pull the cable through the opening of the
left cable entrance slot 8 to the terminal strip 9.
On the remaining plug of the twisted
pair cable, determine which color
lies on which pin. Use the following
table to determine which leads you
need for the connection to the
EXAConnecT and insulate the leads
that are not needed. Connect the
remaining leads to the Ethernet connection 10 of the
terminal strip 9 in accordance with the table. Connect
the shielding of the twisted pair cable to the ground-
ing terminal 17.

Use the crossover assignment for the network con-
nection directly to your PC and the 1:1 connection for
the connection to your firm network, server, or net-
work hub.
Check whether the cable is held firmly in place. Then
turn the sleeve 7 on the cable entrance slot 8 in the
clockwise direction tightly back in position.
Connection of EXAConnecT to the Power
Supply
The voltage and frequency of the power source must
agree with the values on the nameplate of the ma-
chine. In order to connect the EXAConnecT access
point to the power supply, you need a three-lead
mains cable 19.
Loosen the sleeve 7 on the right cable entrance slot
8 by turning it in the counterclockwise direction.

Remove the maintenance cover plate 2 on the volt-
age-free EXAConnecT by unscrewing the two small
bottom Phillips screws 3. You thereby gain access to

the terminal strip 9.
Pull the three leads through the opening of the right
cable entrance slot 8 to the terminal strip 9.
Connect the phase lead (brown wire) to the symbol
