• Right after inserting the batteries, the outdoor sensor will briefly display all display segments. If
only crazy characters appear, push the recessed button „RESET" (D6) e.g. with a toothpick.
• Before closing the battery compartment, you can select the desired temperature unit for the
display of the outdoor sensor with the button „°C/°F" (D7).
• The red LED (D1) at the front of the outdoor sensor flashes briefly at each transmission of the
outdoor sensor (above the LC display).
The weather station should display the outdoor temperature and outdoor humidity in the
bottom-most display line after some time.
• If the weather station does not display any measured data from the outdoor sensor after 3
minutes, take the batteries from the weather station and outdoor sensor and proceed again as
described above.
Alternatively, you can start the sensor search manually later (after the DCF reception attempt)
by pushing the button „CHANNEL" (B10) on the rear of the weather station for 3 seconds until a
sound signal can be heard. The display for the outdoor temperature/humidity and the reception
symbol (bottom of the display) flash as well.
c) DCF-Reception
The DCF signal is a signal that is sent by a transmitter in
Mainflingen (near Frankfurt on the Main). Its range is up
to 1500 km, and under perfect reception conditions even
up to 2000 km.
Among others, the DCF signal contains the precise time
and date.
Of course, the tedious switching between summer and
winter time manually can also be dispensed with.
• After the weather station has completed the sensor search for the outdoor sensor, the search
for the DCF signal starts. The corresponding reception symbol (A2) flashes in the upper right
of the display.
• Do not put the weather station next to electronic devices, metal parts, cables, etc. Bad reception
can also be expected, e.g. in case of metallised insulation glass windows, reinforced concrete
construction, coated special wallpaper or basement rooms.
