A minimum length is not required.
NOTE:
The combustion air intake pipe with combustion air intake si-
lencer must not exceed a max. length of 2.0 m.
NOTE:
The maximum total combined length of the combustion air
intake pipe and the exhaust pipe must not exceed:
With exhaust silencer: 2.0 m

Without exhaust silencer: 5.0 m


Combustion air inlet
The air for the combustion chamber of the heater must not
be drawn from the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
(Requirement from ECE-R 122, Point 5.3.5.1.).
The combustion air should only be drawn from areas in which no persons

are present.
 The combustion air should only be extracted from a cool area which is
protected from splashing water.
The pipe opening should be positioned so as to prevent the penetration

of water if the vehicle is driven through water.
