rent of 230 V. Use an inert fuse of 16A or a toggle fuse. In
order to avoid shocks or fire, replace damaged or worn out
cable immediately.
If the motor runs too high it will independently switch itself
off. After a cool down time (varying in length), the motor
can be restarted.
Defective Electrical Connections
Electrical connections can often have insulation deficien-
cies.
Possible causes:
• Pressure points, when the cable is passed through door
or window cracks.
• Bending points due to inexpert binding or laying of the
electrical cables.
• Cuts due to the cable being driven over.
• Insulation defects due to being pulled out of a wall sock-
et.
• Cracks due to aging of the insulation.
Such defective electrical connections should not be used
and they are, due to the deficiencies in insulation, mortally
dangerous!
Alternating Current Motor
• The electrical current supply must be 220 – 240 Volts
• Extension leads up to 25 m long must have a cross-sec-
tion of 1.5 square millimetres.
Connections and repairs of the electrical equipment may
only be undertaken by a qualified electrician.
Should there be questions, the following information is
relevant:
• motor manufacturer
• type of current for the motor
• data of the machine and type sign
• data for the motor type sign.

Maintenance

Warning: In the interest of plant safety, always turn the saw
off and unplug it before you begin maintenance work.
In General
Renewal of the wax coating of the work table makes it sim-
pler to move the materials to be sawn.
Dust removal supports (fig. 15)
To the right of the machine body there are dust removal
supports (1) to which a dust removal bag (not supplied with
the machine) can be connected. Should a large amount of
sawdust have collected inside the machine housing, use
a wet or dry vacuum to remove it, or loosen the screws to
the right of the saw. Then replace the metal plate and the
screws before starting the machine. This maintains a high
level of saw performance.
Motor
Should the electric cable be torn out, cut, or in any other
way damaged, it must be immediately replaced. The motor
housing and internal parts should not be lubricated.
Brush Inspection
Remove the plate covering and check the motor brushes
after the first fifty hours of operation for a new machine,
or after a new installation of brushes. Following the first
control check, repetition should occur every ten hours of
operation.
Should the carbon be worn down to 6 mm or a feather or
wire be burned through or damaged, then both brushes
should be changed. Should it be determined when the
brushes have been removed that they can still be used,
then they can be replaced in the machine.
Saw Arm Bearings
Lubricate the bearings in the arm of the saw every fifty
hours. Here is how to do this (Fig. 14).
• Turn the saw on its side.
• Apply a generous amount of SAE 20 01 to the shaft end
of the bronze bearings.
• Let the oil seep in over night.
• Repeat this procedure the next day for the other side of
the saw.
