8.3.1 Connection cable (4)
The length L of the connection cable (4) is calculated as

follows:
H + D + E – 250 mm
1. Wrap the excess connection cable (4) around the
pump (6) and secure it to the cable clamp (6a).
2. Insert the plug of the connection cable (4) into the ca-
ble connection (2a) on the control unit (2). Note the
alignment indicated by the notch in the plug.
3. Turn the union nut on the plug onto the cable connec-
tion (2a) to secure the plug and prevent water from
entering.
8.3.2 Hose (10)
The length L of the hose (10) is calculated as follows:

H – 130 mm
1. Release the connection with the hose aerator (10a)
from its fixing on the hose guide (10d).
2. Detach the hose aerator connection (10a) from the
hose (10) by loosening the union nut and pulling out
the hose (10).
3. Cut the hose to length L
4. Reinsert the hose (10) into the connection with the
hose vent (10a) and secure it with the union nut.
5. Clip the connection with the hose aerator (10a) back
into the fixing on the hose guide (10d).
6. Connect the hose sleeve (10e) of the hose (10) to the
hose connector (5a) on the pump (6).
8.4 Place the pump (6) in the water
barrel and connect it (Fig. 10)
1. Carefully lower the pump (6) into the water using the
attached hose (10).
2. The pump (6) is equipped with a vent to facilitate im-
mersion. A valve closes the vent when the pump (6) is
in operation.
3. Hook the hose guide (10d) onto the edge of the water
barrel.
4. Check that the pump (6) is in the correct position. The
position (approx. 50 mm above the bottom of the wa-
ter barrel) is determined by the length of the hose
(10).
5. Attach a garden hose to the connection with a hose
aerator (10a) using a standard hose coupling. Do not
use hose couplings with auto-stop, as these can re-
duce the flow rate.
8.5 Completion of assembly (Fig. 11)
Ensure that the water barrel is covered with a cover or
similar so that children or animals cannot fall into it. In
some cases, access points for cables and hoses are al-
ready provided.
If you need to cut the openings yourself, ensure that there
are no sharp edges that could damage the connection ca-
ble (4) or hose (10).

ATTENTION
Always make sure the product is fully assembled
before commissioning!
• Check the product for obvious defects such as loose,
worn or damaged parts before each use.
9.1 Inserting/removing the battery (3c)
into/from the battery mount (3b)
(Fig. 12)
CAUTION
Danger of injury!
Do not insert the battery until the product is ready for
use.
Inserting the battery
1. Fold the locking bar (3a) up.
2. Open the battery cover (3).
3. Push the battery (3c) into the battery mount (3b). The
battery (3c) clicks into place audibly.
4. Close the battery cover (3).
5. Fold the locking bar (3a) down.
Removing the battery
1. Fold the locking bar (3a) up.
2. Open the battery cover (3).
3. Press the unlocking button (3d) of the battery (3c) and
remove the battery (3c) from the battery mount (3b).

10 Operation

ATTENTION
The product is part of the 20V IXES series and may on-
ly be operated with batteries of this series. Batteries
may only be charged with battery chargers of this se-
ries. Observe the manufacturer's instructions.
ATTENTION
Always remove the pump from the water if there is a
risk of frost!
Notes:
• Check the product regularly for damage.
• When no more water can be pumped, a dry-running
protection device automatically switches off the pump.
• The control unit must always be securely mounted to
the wall or barrel bracket.
• The control unit must never be immersed in water.
• The connection cable must not be used for purposes
other than its intended use, such as carrying or hang-
ing the pump.
• Never use the product without a filter, and ensure that
the filter is clean and undamaged.
