manual and the safety instructions.

7.1
Familiarising yourself with the
product
• Read the entire operating manual before using the
product.
• Observe the warning and information signs attached
to the product. They provide important notes for safe
operation.
• Familiarise yourself with the controls and the proper
use of the product.
• It must be ensured that the product is only operated
by trained persons who have read and understood the
enclosed operating manual and observe all instruc-
tions and safety precautions contained therein.
7.2
Personal safety
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use com-
mon sense when operating the product. Do not
use a product while you are tired or under the in-
fluence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of carelessness when using the product can result in
serious injuries.
• Always wear safety gloves, safety goggles, hearing
protection, sturdy shoes and long trousers when work-
ing with this product.
• Wear suitable clothing! Do not wear wide clothing or
jewellery, which can become entangled in moving
parts or tool attachments. It is recommended to wear
sturdy gloves, non-slip shoes, hearing protection and
safety goggles.
• Check that all protective covers are in place and all
screws, nuts and bolts are tightened.
• For safety reasons, never operate the product with
worn or damaged parts. Damaged parts must be re-
placed or repaired. Only use original spare parts. De-
fective parts can cause injuries or damage the prod-
uct.
• For safety reasons, check fuel line, fuel tank, fuel cap
and connections regularly for damage, ageing (brittle-
ness), tight fit and leaks and replace if necessary.
• Remove any adjusting tools or spanners before turn-
ing the tool on. A tool or spanner that is located in a
rotating device part may result in injuries.
• Do not use the product barefoot or with sandals. Wear
sturdy footwear and long trousers.
• Ensure safe footing and balance at all times. This en-
ables better control of the product in unexpected situ-
ations.
• Prevent unintentional start-up. Make sure that the en-
gine switch is switched off before transporting the
product or carrying out maintenance work on the prod-
uct. Transport or maintenance work on the product
can lead to accidents if the switch is on.
7.3
Working range
• Before using the product or attaching a tool attach-
ment, carefully check the surrounding area. The prod-
uct is not suitable for use under harsh conditions,
such as extreme air-conditioning packages or hazard-
ous environments, where special safety measures are
required.
• The product must not be used in contaminated envi-
ronments.
• Do not work with the product in an explosive environ-
ment.
• Keep children and other people away while using the
product. Distractions may cause you to lose control of
the product.

Safe handling of fuels

Risk of fire and explosion!
When filling, fuel may ignite and even explode. This can
lead to severe burns or death.
• Take safety measures when handling fuel to reduce
the risk of serious injury.
• Use a suitable fuel can when filling or draining the
tank.
• Keep fuel away from sparks, open flames, permanent
flames, heat sources and other sources of ignition.
Do not smoke!
• For safety reasons, check fuel line, fuel tank, fuel cap
and connections regularly for damage, ageing (brittle-
ness), tight fit and leaks and replace if necessary.
• Refuel outdoors only and do not smoke while refuel-
ling.
• Fuel must be filled before starting the engine. While
the engine is running or immediately after switching
off the product, do not open the fuel filler cap or add
fuel.
