Use the function to prevent an additional weight affecting the patient's weight
TARE
value.
This function is suitable for patients with limited mobility who cannot stand for the entire
weighing procedure. You can start by weighing a wheelchair, for example, and taring off
its unladen weight. The patient can then be weighed in a sitting position.
NOTICE!
Faulty measurement as a result of force shunt
If an additional weight is touching the surface on which the scale is standing, the
weight will not be measured correctly.
► Make sure that additional weights are only placed on the scale's weighing
platform.
1. Switch on the scale.
2. Place the wheelchair on the scale.
3. Hold down the
hold/tare
4. Wait until the display stops flashing and
ð The weight of the wheelchair is tared off.
5. Guide the patient onto the weighing platform and support them to sit in the wheel-
chair.
6. Ask the patient not to move.
ð The patient's weight is displayed.
7. Read off the measuring result.
8. To deactivate the
TARE
sage is no longer displayed or turn off the scale.
NOTE
The maximum weight which can be displayed is reduced by the weight of the
objects which have been tared.
When the function is activated, the weight is still displayed after the load has been

removed from the scale. This enables you to attend to the patient before recording the
weight value.
