5. Loosen the 2 screws (c) under the removed guard and unscrew the 2 screws (d) on the mounted guard to
prevent contact with the cutting media.
6. Remove the protection.
7. Repeat this process on the other side.
To make the lateral adjustment:
1. Position the slats so that the ends point to the sides.
2. Measure the distance from the outer tip (cutting edge) of the blade to the ground. Measure the distance
from the cutting tip of the left and right blade to the ground. If the measurements are greater than 3/16 inch,
go to the next step.
3. Turn the adjustment nuts (a,b,c) up to raise or down to lower the cutting deck. (Fig. 22)
4. Repeat this process on the other side.
Note: If you lift the side, you will need to turn the top adjustment nut first. If lowering, turn the bottom nut first.
5.After adjustment, tighten the upper and lower nuts together.
6. Measure again. The deck is properly balanced when both blade tip measurements taken earlier are equal.
WARNING: Tractor blades are sharp. Wrap the blade or wear gloves and take care when servicing them.
7.4 Removing the cutting platform (Fig.23)

Removing the deck will make it easier to replace belts, pulleys and blades.
1. Make sure the tractor is in neutral.
2. Stop the engine, engage the parking brake and remove the key.
3. Lower the deck to its lowest position.
4. Remove the guard, see the section " Adjusting the cutting deck"
5. Pull the tensioner (a) forward to remove the tractor belt.
6. Remove the 2 platform fuses.
