6. 10 Using the parking brake.
NOTICE: The parking brake must be activated if the operator wants to leave the
seat with the engine running, otherwise the engine will stop automatically.
Setting the parking brake:
1. Fully depress the brake pedal.
2. Raise the parking brake knob all the way to the locked position. (Fig. 17)
3. Release the brake pedal to allow the parking brake to engage.
Releasing the parking brake:
1. Fully depress the brake pedal and hold it down with your foot.
2. Lower the parking brake knob all the way to the unlock position.
3. Release the brake pedal to allow the parking brake to disengage.
6.11 Adjusting the cutting height of the tractor.
The cutting height adjustment lever is located on the right wing. It is used to
change the height of the cutting platform. The height (distance between the blade
and the ground) can be adjusted from 30 mm to 90 mm (7 height positions).
To change the cutting height, move the lever to the side, then up or down to
the desired position (Fig.18).
6.12 Adjusting the deck anti-scalp wheels
To adjust the wheels:
1. Park the tractor on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Stop the engine and remove the key. Let the blades come to a complete
stop.
3. Set the cutting deck to the desired height.
4. Loosen the wheel bolt and nut.
5. Move the wheel to a position that is approximately (3-12mm) off the
ground.
6. Tighten the bolt and nut securely.
7. Making sure both side wheels are installed in the same position.
6.13 Trimming
To engage/disengage the blades:
1. Move the throttle lever to the FAST position.
2. Pull the blade engagement button up to the ON position.
3.To disengage the blades, push the blade engagement button down to
the DISABLED (OFF) position. (Fig. 19)
WARNING: The engine will STOP when attempting to reverse with the
blade engagement button in the ENGAGE position and the MIR button
not depressed. See Trim in Reverse (MIR).
Note: The blade engagement button must be in the disengaged position
when the engine is started.
When mowing the lawn, make sure the throttle is always in the FAST
position
6.14 Pruning in reverse (MIR).
Mowing in reverse can be dangerous for bystanders. Accidents can occur
if the operator is not careful. Children are often attracted to the tractor and
the activity of mowing the lawn.
• Keep children away from the operating area and under the close
supervision of a responsible adult.
• Do not carry passengers, especially children, even with the blades
stopped. Children may fall and be seriously injured or interfere with the
safe operation of the tractor. Unsupervised children may suddenly appear
in the mowing area!
• Do not mow in reverse unless absolutely necessary.
Once the blades are engaged:
1. Press and hold the brake/clutch pedal to stop forward movement.
2. Press and hold the MIR button. (Fig. 20)
3. Move the gear shifter into reverse. (R)
4. Release the MIR button.
5. Slowly release the brake/clutch pedal.
