10| CO CYLINDER SEAL

The CO cylinder seal is located on the appliance

side in the upper part of the water carbonator
between the appliance and the valve of the CO
cylinder.
If the seal is missing or damaged, the function
and safety of the appliance are not guaranteed.
Possible signs of a missing or defective seal
include:
CO leaking at the valve of the CO cylinder

during carbonation or even when the cylin-
der is screwed in. This usually involves a char-
acteristic hissing sound that occurs when
gaseous elements escape from a leak under
pressure.
Water in the cylinder compartment.

Ice on the CO cylinder and the cylinder emp-
•

ties rapidly.
10.1| REPLACING THE CO CYLINDER

SEAL
1| Every Element One water carbonator from
WMF is supplied with a replacement seal
under the base. To use it, remove the sticker
under the base and remove the replacement
seal (Fig. 16).
2| To replace the seal, remove the upper part of
the appliance by pressing the button under-
neath and turning the upper part counter-
clockwise (Fig. 2).
3| Use tweezers to remove the old seal (Fig. 17).
4| Then place the new CO cylinder seal in the

round recess provided for this purpose. We
also recommend that you use tweezers for
this. Finally, press the new seal in with your
fi nger (Fig.18).
5| Position the upper part back on the base of
the appliance and turn it clockwise (Fig. 6).
