In the event of an official order to boil tap
water before it is consumed, this also applies
when using the water with this appliance. Make
sure the water has cooled down before carbon-
ating it.

away from possible heat sources. As the pres-
sure inside the CO
cylinder is influenced by the

external temperature, you must also avoid posi-
tioning it in the immediate vicinity of:
Bright windows / direct sunlight
Hotplates
Radiators
Open flames
Do not use it at temperatures above 40°C.
Never use your Element One water carbonator
if it is defective or damaged; this could pose
a serious safety risk! Do not try to open the
appliance under any circumstances and do not
attempt to repair it yourself! Instead, always
contact the appliance point of sale for more
information.
Maintenance and repair work on the appliance
may only be carried out by WMF authorized
personnel.
2.1| SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR CO
CYLINDERS
Only type-approved CO
cylinders with 425 g
2
carbon dioxide according to E290 and a screw
thread are compatible with this appliance.
CO
cylinders with a click system (Quick Con-
2
nect) cannot be used with this appliance!
Under no circumstances should larger or
smaller CO
cylinders be used, as these can
2
impair the functionality and safety of the
appliance.
CO
cylinders are pressurized, therefore you
2
must always handle them with caution and
care.
Do not place CO
cylinders near a heat source
2
(radiator, hotplate, direct sunlight, etc.) as
they could burst.
Always store them in a well-ventilated place
and never expose them to temperatures above
50°C.
It is possible that the CO
cylinder used will
2
become loose over time in the appliance and
thus lose its effectiveness. In this case, check
that the CO
cylinder is fitted correctly and
2
screw it back in if necessary.
Do not use damaged CO
cylinders under any
2
circumstances. Before inserting a new CO
cylinder into the appliance, inspect the cyl-
inder and its valve for dents, holes or other
damage. If you find a defect, do not try to fix
it yourself. Instead, use a CO
cylinder that is
2
not damaged.

If CO
escapes, do not touch the CO

Instead, leave it in the appliance and store the
appliance in a well-ventilated place.
Wait at least 24 hours until the CO
pletely escaped. Then remove the CO
from the appliance.
Damaged cylinders must not be reused under
any circumstances.

cylinders may only be used in accordance

with these operating Instructions.
Do not throw or drop them.

Do not damage, tamper with or burn them.
Never remove the valve attached to the top of
the cylinder.
Do not use a cylinder beyond its expiration
date.
CO
cylinders can become very cold and lose
2
effectiveness when used frequently in short
periods of time or due to transportation.
Avoid touching an icy CO
cylinder and wait
2
until it has warmed up to room temperature
on its own before carbonating.
Never try to fill the CO
cylinder yourself.

Keep out of reach of children at all times.
If CO
escapes uncontrollably due to a leak,
2
ventilate the room well, breathe in fresh air
and consult a doctor immediately if you feel
unwell.

Never screw a CO
bonator while a water bottle is still inserted
into the appliance.
Never remove the CO
carbonator while it is in operation or if CO
escaping from the cylinder.

Note that this starter set does not include a CO
cylinder. All commercially available screw-in

The Element One water bottle must not be
used beyond the best-before date.
For safety reasons, water bottles from other
manufacturers must not be used with the
WMF Element One water carbonator under
any circumstances.
Always protect the bottle against heat. Never
store it near heat sources or, for example,
leave it in your car.
Best-before date: Do not use the bottle beyond the best-before date. Signs of aging of the
PET over time can impair its functionality and thus pose a safety risk.
Approved for food: Marking indicating that the bottle is safe for contact with food until the
expiry of the best-before date.
Not dishwasher safe: Never clean the bottle in the dishwasher. This can impair the
functionality of the bottle and thus pose a safety risk.
Area of use: The bottle is intended exclusively for filling with drinking water.
Temperature range: The temperature of the filled drinking water must be above 1°C and
below 40°C.
Disposal: PET bottle body (holder elements made of PP) with stainless steel base cap and
stainless steel lid with PP and silicone seal.

flames. First of all, remove the associated Ele-

of the appliance counterclockwise until it
reaches the stop and remove it from the
base. (Fig. 2).
