In case of stubborn soiling on the lance, apply
some standard descaler on a damp (microfi-
ber) cloth and clean the lance thoroughly. Then
remove the descaler residue using another
(microfiber) cloth and clear water.
6.3| CLEANING THE WATER BOTTLE
The Element One water bottle, including the
lid, is expressly not suitable for cleaning in the
dishwasher. WMF recommends manual cleaning
with lukewarm water and a mild washing-up
liquid.
If necessary, the high-quality stainless steel cap
at the bottom of the bottle can be removed (see
section 7 "PET body of the water bottle").
Do not use harsh and/or aggressive solvents or
cleaning agents to clean the water bottle!
When using a dishwashing brush, make sure it is
suitable for plastics. WMF recommends using a
dishwashing brush for PET bottles that is made
of silicone, foam or natural bristles to avoid
scratches on the surface of the bottle.
In the event of heavier soiling, for example
due to the use of syrup or other additives, it is
important that you thoroughly clean the bottle
before the next carbonation process to prevent
possible additive residues from penetrating into
internal components of the water carbonator.
For hygiene reasons, clean the bottle lid regu-
larly by hand using lukewarm water and a mild
washing-up liquid.
If the bottle is not used again immediately after
cleaning, let it dry out with the lid off (ideally
upside down).
Always store the water bottle without a lid to
prevent any possible odors.
7| PET BODY OF THE WATER
BOTTLE
PET bottles have a best-before date. This also
applies to the PET body of the Element One
water bottle. The best-before date is printed on
the side of the bottle. Do not use the PET body
of the bottle after expiration of the best-be-
fore date; the stainless steel parts, on the other
hand, are reusable with a new PET body. (Tip: At
www.wmf.com, you can purchase the PET body
of the bottle separately.)
To change the PET body, unscrew the bottle lid,
firmly hold the bottle with the opening facing
upwards with one hand and turn the PET body
clockwise out of the stainless steel cap and
remove it (Fig. 13).
Then turn the new PET body counterclockwise
onto the existing stainless steel cap (Fig. 14).
8| RECYCLING/REUSE
After expiration of the best-before date, the
PET body of the Element One water bottle must
be disposed of in accordance with local regu-
lations. The stainless steel components can be
reused with a new PET body that is available
separately.
The packaging is made of paper-based material
and can be disposed of in the paper waste.
