Keep Warm function
This function keeps pre-cooked food at the ideal temperature until it is ready to be served. Do
not attempt to cook food with this function.
Recommendations:
-
It is not recommended to use the product with the high temperature function for more
than 4 hours.
-
When you finish using the slow cooker, disconnect it from the mains.

function.

Slow cooking guide
This section is designed to help you adapt your favourite recipes to the slow cooker. Soups and
stews are the most common recipes for this type of cooker. Most stews and meats cooked on
low power give better results.

Important:
-
Allow enough time for cooking.
-
Do not add as much liquid as indicated in the original recipe, if following a recipe for
conventional cooking pots. Generally, half the amount of liquids is required as compared
to conventional cooking methods, as they do not evaporate in the same way. If there is too
much liquid at the end of the cooking process, remove the lid and cook on high power until
the excess liquid has evaporated.
-
Many of the steps in conventional recipes can be ignored, as the vegetables will not be
overcooked, so you can put all the ingredients in the slow cooker at once. However, milk or
cream should be added during the last hour of cooking.

Cooking meat and poultry
-
When preparing meat, always go for the finest cuts. Cut and remove any visible fat from
meat fillets, as slow cooking produces liquid fat. Use skinless chicken if possible. For stew
recipes, cut the meat into approximately 2.5 cm thick cubes.
-
Less tender meats are ideal for slow cookers because the slow cooking processes make
them tender and tasty. The following table shows the types of meat cuts that are suitable.
Meat

Beef
Flank, shank, round, sirloin, steaks for stew.
Lamb
Neck, front shank, rack.
Pork
Ham, loin, chop.
Browning before cooking
-
Browning both meat and poultry before cooking in the slow cooker intensifies the flavour
and produces more tasty results.
-
It also intensifies the flavour of other foods such as onions, peppers and leeks.
-
It may take a little longer to brown the food earlier, but the results are noticeably better. To
brown them, use a non-stick frying pan. Use the minimum amount of oil. It is possible that
if the food is not browned before cooking in the pan, it may be a little tasteless.
