11. Concluding operations: Disconnecting and cleaning the test tools
Caution:
Observe the safety instructions and cleanliness regulations for working on the AdBlue
system (in particular sections 1.3 and 1.4). Every time the AdBlue circuit is opened,
you must drain the system beforehand. If this test procedure is not available as a
separate test step, carry out the AdBlue circuit leak test using the diagnostic tester.
This test procedure involves draining the system at the end of the test, thereby
preventing an uncontrolled release of AdBlue.
- Remobve and clean the test pressure pipes, the pressure gauge and the measuring
container.
11.1 Component cleaning
Caution:
Observe the safety instructions and cleanliness regulations for handling AdBlue.
On completion of the functional tests, the components of the Denoxtronic set must be
cleaned and fully dried, as otherwise they will soon become unusable.
- Fully drain the test leads, the pressure gauge and the measuring container. No residual
AdBlue may remain in the parts.
- Before cleaning the metering module, seal the
electric connections with the sealing plug (0 986
610 452).
- All components that come into contact withAdBlue,
especially the pressure gauge, the test metering
module and the test pressure pipes should be
thoroughly cleaned with warm water.
- Then thoroughly dry all parts by blowing out
compressed air.
- To maintain serviceability, treat all O-rings (e.g. for
hydraulic lines) with lubricant (glycerine paste) at
regular intervals.
- Stick the test hoses together. Attach protective caps to the open connections to avoid
contamination.
11.2 Disconnecting the diagnostic tester
Caution:
Always detach the connector plug when ignition is "OFF".
- Ignition is SWITCHED OFF.
- Disconnect the diagnostic tester from the diagnosis interface.
