Tensioning
Do not apply too much tensioning force! If you apply too much tensioning force, it can
damage the scissor mechanism of the tool. If you need a lot of force when using the tool,
there is most likely a problem. Further use of the tool can lead to serious damage!
Preconditions:
A proper insertion depth was chosen so the pipe can be peeled until its end.
ROSCRAPER 315 without hook wrench:
Hold the tool by the expander support (2) and turn the handle (1) clockwise. The scissor
mechanism expands.
Expand the scissor mechanism until it touches the inside of the pipe.
Continue turning the handle until the tool is sufficiently tensioned and it no longer turns in the
pipe.
ROSCRAPER 315 with hook wrench:
If you have problems tensioning the tool, you can use the supplied hook wrench for a better
grip.
Insert the tip of the hook wrench (2) into one of the holes on the expander support.
Hold the hook wrench firmly and turn the handle (1) clockwise. With the hook wrench you
can apply additional clamping force.
ROSCRAPER 400:
Turn the handle (1) counterclockwise. The scissor mechanism expands.
Expand the scissor mechanism until it touches the inside of the pipe.
Continue turning the handle until the tool is sufficiently tensioned and it no longer turns in the
pipe.
Do not apply too much tensioning force! Example: In position (1) you can feel that the pilot
arm can only be moved further with a great deal of force for increased tensioning. Interrupt
the clamping process at this point! From this point turn the pilot arm for tensioning MAXI-
MUM another 1/4 turn for tensioning!
