Symbols explanations
The lightning symbol inside an equilateral triangle is intended to warn of the risk of mortal
electric shock or the impairment of the appliance's electric safety. Never open the appliance
during operation.
An exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important instructions in the operating manual.
Carefully read the whole operating manual before putting the device into operation. It contains
important information about correct operation of the device.
The appliance has been constructed according to protection class II (double insulation)
Earth potential
CAT II Overvoltage category II
CAT III Overvoltage category III
Safety instructions
We do not assume liability for resulting damages to property or personal injury if the
product has been abused in any way or damage by improper use or failure to observe
these operating instructions. The guarantee will then expire!
Unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product are inadmissible due to safety and
approval reasons (CE).
The voltage of the measuring device must not exceed 500Vrms with respect to ground or 600Vrms
potential free.
Current measurement can only be carried out in power circuits secured with 400mA/ 25V or less.
The maximum input voltage for digital storage oscilloscope is 600V peak-to-peak.
Never measure frequency of signal which amplitude exceeds 250VACrms.
This multimeter can measure up to 600V in category II and 300V in category III.
Full compliance with safety standards can be guaranteed only if used with test leads supplied. Test
leads must be in good condition.
When the meter is linked to measurement circuit, do not touch unused terminals.
When the value to be measured is unknown, set the range selector at the highest position.
When measuring TV or switching power circuits always remember that there may be high amplitude
voltage pulses at test points, which can damage the multimeter.
Never perform resistance measurement or continuity test on live circuits.
If covers are opened or parts are removed, except it is possible without tools, voltage-carrying
components may be accessible. Terminals can also carry voltage. If it is necessary to open the unit
before battery and fuse replacement, the device has to be separated from all voltage sources and
measuring circuits.
Capacitors in the device can still carry voltage, even if the device has been separated from all
voltage sources.
Before attempting to insert transistors capacitor thermocouple for testing, always be sure that test
lest leads have been disconnected from any measurement circuits.
Test devices and their accessories must be kept out of reach of children!
In industrial facilities, the safety regulations laid down by the professional trade association for
electrical equipment and facilities must be observed.
In schools, training facilities, do-it-yourself and hobby workshops, test devices are to be used only
under supervision of trained personnel.
Before performing voltage measurements, make sure that the tester is not in the current test
position.
Before changing the test range, remove the test leads from the test object.
Use extreme caution when measuring voltages >25 V for AC and >35 V for DC! Even these voltages
might cause a lethal electric shock when touching electric leads.
Before each measurement check your test device and the test leads for damage(s). Never perform
measurements if the protective insulation is damaged (torn, ripped off, etc.)
Remove all the test leads before opening the housing and close the housing before use.
To avoid electric shock, do not touch directly or indirectly, the terminals, test leads and/or test points
under test during the measurement.
Take caution that your hands, shoes, clothes, the floor, test device and test leads, circuits and
