Any use not in accordance with the intended purpose is not permitted. A water filter must be in-
stalled upstream of the softener, in particular, to protect it from contamination and siltation.
The use of a protective filter downstream of the system is also recommended, as mechanical damage
or material defects could cause ion exchanger resin to be flushed out.
The permissible water pressure is 2.0 - 6.0 bar. If the existing water pressure is above the limit value,
a pressure reducer must be used.
To prevent water damage in the event of a malfunction, there should be a floor drain near the instal-
lation site. If this is not available on site, a pipe interrupter (AquaStop) should be installed upstream
of the system.
The installation location of the water softener must be level, dry and at a sufficient distance from
heat sources. The room temperature must not fall below +5 °C or exceed +40 °C. It must not be pos-
sible for the system to fall over – even if it is accidentally knocked.
In installations that contain components made of both copper and zinc, very soft water can lead to
corrosion. The German Association for Gas and Water (DVGW), therefore, recommends a minimum
blending of the water to 6 °dH.
